The business comes before the layout
You can't design a homepage until you know what a visitor is supposed to do on it. That's why discovery is a real stage with a real deliverable, not a fifteen-minute call before the fun part.
About
CMT Web is based in Orlando and works remotely with businesses across Florida and beyond. You talk to the person building your site, because that's the only person here.
Most small businesses get one of two things. Either a template with their logo dropped into it for a few hundred dollars, or an agency engagement priced for a company ten times their size — with account managers, status decks and a junior actually doing the work.
There's a gap in between: businesses that need a site genuinely built around how they operate, from someone who'll pick up the phone. That gap is the whole reason this exists.
We're new. We started in 2026, and we're not going to dress up six shipped sites as a decade of experience. What we'll do instead is point you at the work and make the risk of hiring us as small as we can: a fixed price agreed before anything starts, a working staging link in the first couple of weeks, and terms that let you walk away with everything if it doesn't work out.
That's a deliberately unglamorous pitch. It's also the one we can keep.
01 How we think
You can't design a homepage until you know what a visitor is supposed to do on it. That's why discovery is a real stage with a real deliverable, not a fifteen-minute call before the fun part.
Most websites are heavier than they need to be because nobody was accountable for the weight. Every kilobyte on a page we build had to justify itself. It's why this page loads the way it does.
Lock-in is a business model, not a service. Your domain, your code, your content, month-to-month hosting. If we ever stop being worth it, you can go — and we'll help.
If a project is going to slip, if a request will cost more, if you don't actually need what you asked for — you hear it straight away. Bad news doesn't improve with age.
02 Proof of terms
Everything. Here's that written down, so it's a commitment rather than a nice sentiment.
Registered in your name, in your own registrar account. We'll set it up with you, not for you — you hold the keys from day one.
The full source, handed over at launch. Built on standard, widely-used tools and documented — any competent developer can pick it up.
Copy, images and structure are yours. If we wrote it, you still own it.
Month to month. Cancel with 30 days' notice and we'll hand you a working export and help you move it. No termination fee.
None of this is unusual or generous — it's what you should expect from anyone you hire. It's here in writing because a surprising number of places don't offer it, and you shouldn't have to find that out at the point you want to leave.
Then let's talk about the business. Worst case, you get a free read on your current site and we both move on.
